McCook-Crain Building

Overview

Previously home to such facilities as a campus infirmary and the University's chemistry research laboratories, the McCook–Crain Building, constructed in 1953, serves as the office and meeting space for two of Southwestern's precollege academic support programs. Upward Bound provides first-generation college-bound high-school students services and resources that will prepare them academically and socially for success at the University. Through Operation Achievement, SU students engage in service learning by mentoring middle-school students from the Georgetown Independent School District, supporting their academic success.
